ZeroSpace is a metaverse studio and live entertainment venue located in Brooklyn NY.

ZeroSpace began in 2018 as a 25,000 sq ft. immersive theatrical production located in Manhattan. Today [2022] the ZeroSpace project has evolved into a next-gen production studio and entertainment venue of the future. Featuring one of the only fixed-wall LED XR Stages on the East Coast, a Vicon Motion Capture Stage, and 40,000 sq. feet of rentable warehouse space for film/photo shoots and live event production. ZeroSpace is actively creating content and incubating R&D projects focused on bringing the Metaverse to reality. [1]

Unsound focuses on a broad swath of contemporary music — emerging, experimental, and leftfield — whose sweep doesn't follow typical genre constraints. Influential, it has developed a reputation for identifying innovative scenes and radical sounds.[1]

Founded in 2003, Unsound wasn’t always the festival it is now. The very first edition ended with artists thrown out of a club for playing music that was too weird for regular patrons. Now, with the main festival still happening every year at a number of venues across Kraków, regular events also take place in New York, Adelaide, Toronto, and London. Between 2016 and 2018, Unsound also produced eleven festivals in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus, part of a long history of working with curators and artists in the post-Soviet region.[1]

As well as spotlighting emerging artists, Unsound also commissions new shows and encourages transborder collaborations, adapts and reimagines abandoned spaces for concerts and club nights, manages cutting-edge artists, and is known for its sound-inspired Ephemera perfume project. Unsound is also a platform, commissioning and releasing new music and books.[1]

Laboratory provides space and support for interactive art in Spokane, Washington. What is interactive art? We want to support artistic experiences that go beyond either ‘something on a wall’ or ‘something on a stage’. We’re interested in art that creates experiences, where the viewer/user is an integral part in their own experience, where they can touch, manipulate, and, well, interact with the stuff they’re seeing. We want people to feel that art is something that they’re a part of, not just something they look at from a distance and move on. [1]

Laboratory is focused specifically on supporting the development of interactive art. So, we’re interested in artists whose work changes or reacts to audience participation, the changing environment, or other sources of real-time data. Because of this, we tend to have a lot of people who do digital/new media work, but we try hard to be open to other media too. Is your project a wall of paint that people are encouraged to come up and smudge around? A sculpture to be climbed on? Great! Basically, anything that actively involves the viewer, or relies on some kind of data, we’re all for it. [2]

Over 20+ years, CTM has been highlighting new strains of pop and fringe cultures that venture through the weird, the challenging, the cathartic, the esoteric, the contagious, and the ecstatic – simultaneously exploring sonic histories, contexts, and political and technological entanglements. Though international in its approach, CTM remains deeply rooted in and committed to Berlin’s DIY and club scenes, from which it emerged in 1999. [1]

Listening and dancing within the gaps between musics, communities, and scenes, CTM defies easy categorisation and tests the current possibilities and limits of sound and music. Programming supports a multitude of voices, backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives – CTM is for all forms of music as long as they dare to experiment, question, and demonstrate conviction. Our work reaches out to all corners of the globe to explore and explode wildly different, experimental, mutating global scenes. [1]

CTM is an independent, non-profit initiative built, from the very start, on constant collaboration. We work closely with artists, guest curators, and researchers to support them in realising new projects and to produce and transmit new knowledge across performances, exhibitions, talks and artistic labs, writing, and more. Through a multi-perspective approach, we aim to respond to the diversity of an increasingly polycentric, polychromatic, and hybrid (music) world, always with empathy, openness, and a desire to counter global asymmetries. [1]

Because of CTM’s mutually collaborative nature, activities highlight a large and ever-expanding range of practices in and around sound. Through yearly themes, the festival experiments with formats, locations, technologies, and ways of listening, creating multiple entry points from which to engage with sound and their contexts. [1]

Music is not a parallel world, but rather a seismograph of our current societies, a powerful force with which to cope with uncertainty and change, and a medium through which to imagine different futures. [1]

Indexical is dedicated to experimentation in music. Indexical engages the public in radical and unfamiliar work through performance, publication, documentation, educational initiatives, and discussion. We work with historically, culturally, and institutionally underrepresented artists and build community through long-term collaborative projects.[1]

Indexical has presented concerts since 2011, beginning in a converted chapel in Brooklyn and relocating in 2015 to Santa Cruz, California. Since moving to Santa Cruz, Indexical has presented over 75 performances, artist talks, participatory workshops, and large-scale public art events.[1]

In 2018, Indexical formed a 501c3 nonprofit organization with the intention of creating a permanent home for experimental music and art in Santa Cruz. In 2021, Indexical opened a brick-and-mortar venue and gallery space at the Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, and projects hosting upwards of 40 performances over the coming season.[1]

Indexical’s programming is supported in part by the Vincent J. Coates Foundation, the Aaron Copland Fund for Music, the Arts Council of Santa Cruz County, the WHH Foundation, The Alice M. Ditson Fund of Columbia University, the City of Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Arts Commission, as well as over 60 individual donors.[1]

A space and medium dedicated to post-Internet cultures.

Since its opening in 2011, La Gaîté Lyrique is both a space and a medium, a living space centred around research, creation, experimentation and sharing, a space open to all audiences. As witnesses of our hyper-connected era, our focus is on post-Internet cultures: these emerging artistic practices, born on or transformed by the Internet, sit at the intersection between art, new technologies and societal issues. They are rampant, resolutely popular, often festive, sometimes marginalized. [1]

In a time when the use of innovative digital tools leads to the multiplication and hybridization of musical styles, La Gaîté Lyrique explores the rich field of contemporary music, its primary area of interest. But it also celebrates the dance movements that are born and shared online, the podcasts and video games that transform the way we tell stories, the virtual reality tools that renew our perception of the world, the design narratives that help imagine the future, the creative models born from blockchain, and all the art forms that shape the world of tomorrow.[1]

Via a multidisciplinary programme –packed with concerts, exhibitions, talks, performances and workshops– that favours immersion, experimentation, narration, collective experience, entertainment and engagement, La Gaîté Lyrique’s mission is to welcome the artists who are making their mark on society and to support each and every citizen in their discovery and understanding of post-Internet cultures. Tokyo Arts and Space (TOKAS) is an arts center dedicated to the creation and promotion of contemporary artistic expression from Tokyo, and supports a wide spectrum of artistic activities including crossover and experimental projects. Established in 2001 as Tokyo Wonder Site (TWS), an initiative for the support and nurturing of young artists, it was renamed Tokyo Arts and Space in 2017. [1]

With its mission to provide ongoing support for emerging and mid-career artists, promote creative international cultural exchange and offer support for cutting-edge and experimental creative projects, TOKAS is implementing a variety of programs including presenting works by young creators, themed exhibitions, performances and open call contests, as well as operating artists-in-residence programs for international and local creators in Japan working in a variety of fields. With two main venues, TOKAS Hongo, as a facility for presentation of works, and the TOKAS Residency, where residing creators can create works, TOKAS provides ongoing support for contemporary creative activities through various programs, and will continue to nourish the rich culture of the metropolis of Tokyo, where diverse expressions are welcomed. In addition, Tokyo Metropolitan Government and TOKAS have established the "Tokyo Contemporary Art Award" in 2018, and hold an exhibition of works by the winners at Museum of Contemporary Art Tokyo. [1]

Cashmere Radio is a not-for-profit community experimental radio station which was originally based in Lichtenberg, Berlin for the first six years of its existence before recently moving to Wedding. The ambition of the station is to preserve and further radio and broadcasting practices by playing with the plasticity and malleability of the medium. We do this by both honouring and challenging its inherent qualities: it is both a physical station open to the public and an online radio; it has regular shows, yet opens itself up to extended and one-off events; it features extended generative music performances and installations at the same time as working within radio’s typical durations. In short, it is an attempt to enhance and celebrate the performative, social and informative power of radio that we believe lies within the form itself. The radio can be heard 24 hours a day, seven days a week on our website, and on Friday and Saturdays via 88,4 Berlin and 90,7 Potsdam via the 24/3 Radio Netzwerk, a collaboration between six of Berlin’s independent radio stations — Reboot.FM, BLN.FM, WEAREBORNFREE! EMPOWERMENT RADIO, Savvy Funk, Radiomobil and Cashmere.[1]

Light Industry is a venue for film and electronic art in Brooklyn, New York.

Developed and overseen by Thomas Beard and Ed Halter, the project centers upon a series of weekly events, which are frequently organized in collaboration with an invited artist, critic, or curator.

Conceptually, Light Industry draws equal inspiration from the long history of alternative art spaces in New York as well its storied tradition of cinematheques and other intrepid film exhibitors. Through a regular program of screenings, performances, and lectures, its goal is to explore new models for the presentation of cinema. Bringing together the worlds of contemporary art, experimental film, and documentary (to name only a few), Light Industry looks to foster an ongoing dialogue among a wide range of artists and audiences within the city.[1]

Clocktower Productions is a non-profit art institution working in the visual arts, performance, music, and radio. Founded in 1972 in Lower Manhattan by MoMA PS1 Founder Alanna Heiss, Clocktower is the oldest alternative art project in New York, and its radio station, Clocktower Radio, was founded in 2003 as one of the first all-art online museum radio stations in the world. The institution functions as a laboratory for experimentation, working closely and collaboratively with artists, musicians, curators, writers and producers to develop, realize and present innovative and challenging work in all media, ranging from installation to performance and from experimental music to radio theater. By engaging both the physical resources of its partner organizations and Clocktower Radio’s access to a broad and international online audience, Clocktower disseminates experimental work to numerous communities, and promotes a rich cultural and social dialogue between artists, audiences, and institutions worldwide.[1]

Clocktower produces multidisciplinary art projects all over the city through creative collaborations with Pioneer Works in Red Hook, Knockdown Center in Queens, and Times Square Arts, Red Bull Studios, and Jones Day in Manhattan. These spaces host Clocktower exhibitions, performances, residencies, radio, and administrative activities. While Clocktower examines opportunities for a permanent long-term home, administrative offices are located in the Jones Day office building on East 41st Street, with a satellite studio for full-time radio production and broadcast at Pioneer Works, in Red Hook.[1]
